Zen Arts took over the Hollywood Avalon with DJs James Lavelle and Steve Porter. Zen Arts aerialists, acrobats, tribal belly dancers, stilt walkers and performers hovered above 2000 people on stage and throughout the Avalon at one of the busiest nightclubs on the west coast.
The Avalon first opened as The Palace in 1927 and has hosted Groucho Marx, Dean Martin, and The Rolling Stones just to name a few. Now, The Avalon is one of the largest and most sophisticated concert venues and nightclubs in the world!
Avaland is Avalon’s weekly Saturday evening event hosting the best DJs from all over the world. Tiesto, Erik Morillo, Sander Kleinenberg, and DJ AM have all played at Avaland. Now add Zen Arts to that list!
Zen Arts put their airbrush artist in the lobby of the Avalon at midnight to body paint the performers right in front of arriving guests. And that’s how the show starts! You have never seen so many people in awe as the gorgeous Zen Arts aerialists and performers dressed in elaborate costumes held sexy poses while the artist performed his magic on them before each of their performances.
The Avalon roped off a 100-foot space in the back of dance floor for the Zen Arts stilt walkers to bounce, flip and catch air for all to see. And instead of go-go dancers, Zen Arts had tribal belly dancers dancing on the large podiums on the dance floor mesmerizing the audience with sultry and surreal moves of tribal derivations.
The main stage hosted DJs James Lavelle and Steve Porter plus the Zen Arts aerialists. Imagine tissu, straps, and lyra (hoop) right above 2000 people! With a lineup like this there was no other place to be in Los Angeles on a Saturday night.
